The course of the Desafio das Fortalezas (Challenge of the Fortresses regatta) leads sailors around the islands with forts on the North side of the Santa Catarina Island.

 

The starting line is located in front of the São Miguel beach in Biguacu, continues in front of the beach and turns toward the fort “Santo Antonio dos Ratones” on the Ratones Grande island, then circles another buoy in front of the fort São Jose da Ponta Grossa located on the island of Florianopolis, turns again at the fort of Santa Cruz on the Anhatomirim Island in Governador Celso Ramos and then returns to São Miguel

The 15 mile course is open to all classes of catamarans and will use a handicap system for scoring.
